Autumnal Season of Exhaling and Release

Just as, part of the year, Venus rides high and sparkly in the evening sky, and in other times (like now), she abides early and mysterious in the morning sky, part of our work in money healing is nourishing, tending, and building—AND part of our money-healing work is releasing and clearing that which is no longer ours (or never was).

How Is Venus Connected to Money Healing?
—So Many Ways!

Money Healing work is well attuned to the archetypical energy of Venus (astrological ruler of Taurus and Libra). Venus represents what we value, our values, what we find truly worthy to enjoy or pursue, our own self-worth and feelings of worthiness, that which we find most beautiful in both the material and spiritual realms, and nourishment on all levels.

Astrologically, Venus-ruled Taurus rules the realms of finance, specifically money we earn ourselves (self-reliance), as well as all the earthy things (from agriculture to sensual pleasures). And Libra champions the themes of partnership (business partners, creative collaborators, and romantic partners)—and that familiar tension between self and other—along with diplomacy, the arts, and beauty in all its forms. 

All of these themes (and their encumbered shadow sides) are rich and ripe to explore when we engage both with our own money healing and with the legacy/ancestral work of money healing along our lineage lines! Venusian energy, when explored and attuned with through a money-healing lens, can be a deeply powerful ally along our transformational path! And now is an extremely potent time for this. 

Why Is This a Particularly Potent Season for Venus-Themed Money Healing?

The myth of Inanna has long been associated with Venus and Venus’s 19-month synodic cycle through the sky. This ancient Summerian myth is about a heroine’s journey that the goddess Inanna takes deep down into the underworld, where she experiences a death-rebirth initiation and then returns back upward into community again . . . just as the planet Venus travels along the morning the sky (for about 263 days), then drops deep into the underworld (i.e., hidden by the sun, no longer visible here on Earth) for about 50 days, and then ascends back upward into the evening sky once again (for about 263 days).

Over time, many have tracked the Inanna story at this deepening seasonal time of year, beginning with the autumn equinox and culminating with her re-emergence at the new year’s winter solstice. But this year is extra potent, as Venus’s 19-month synodic cycle begins this same month as well! Both Venusian timelines converge: autumn’s descent into winter AND this the new synodic cycle, which began Sept. 12, when Venus returned as the morning star (and continues on through 2024).

What to Expect

On the early evening of Dec. 17, we’ll focus on releasing and letting go of that which is no longer ours to carry (or never was). In attunement with Inanna’s story of releasing her heart-guarding breastplate when she meets the fourth sacred gate of her descent into the underworld (from which she will later emerge!), we too will be unlocking our heart’s gate, letting go of our false adornments handed to us by culture, and releasing the limiting obstacles our minds have projected into being. In ceremony, together, we’ll symbolically set that old shiznit down! 

The ritual itself will be simple and direct, as we each ask ourselves—and ask our own center point of sight–what is ready to release, and then, with kindness and grace, we’ll invite that which is ready to be released to let go. And, as we set down our old ways, we’ll be preparing for the further dissolving to come. . . as we ready ourselves for the deepening autumn, the turning leaves, the inward turning that calls us forward and down, as the earth calls the sap in the trees to rest, and that which is already falling to turn toward its own release. . . all in service to what is to come!

• The middle and larger end of this scale is intended to support sliding-scale programs and coaching I offer to those who are experiencing financial hardship. Thank you for offering generously when you can. 💗

• NOTE: 16% of all proceeds from these ceremonies will be offered to community organizations. (In the autumn and winter, funds will flow toward those working on dismantling and dissolving systems of oppression; in the spring and summer, funds will flow toward those working on creating and nourishing new systems that support deeply inclusive ways of being.)
